How to make tuna toast?

Take two small pickles. First, cut the cucumbers in half lengthwise, then cut them into small slices.

Add the chopped pickles to a small bowl with the mayonnaise. Use 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise.

Take a small red onion, cut 1/5 of it. Cut the red onion into small cubes and add them to the bowl with the pickles and mayonnaise.

Take a small can of tuna. Use tuna marinated in olive oil. Tuna marinated in oil is slightly moister than tuna marinated in its own juices, so it will be tastier and have more flavor.

Place the tuna from the can in a bowl with the gherkins, mayonnaise and red onions.

Mix the entire contents of the bowl well and set aside. We will use this spread later in the tuna toast.

Meanwhile, take a medium-sized frying pan and place it on a medium-hot hob. When the pan is hot, add two tablespoons of olive oil. Wait for the oil to heat up.

Place 2 slices of sandwich bread in a heated pan with olive oil. In this recipe, we use white sandwich bread, but if you want a healthier toast, you can use dark - whole grain sandwich bread.

While the bread is warming in the pan, take a small sprig of cilantro, wash it and place it on a cutting board. Cut the coriander into small pieces and set aside for a while. We will use the cilantro as a seasoning later when the tuna toast is ready.

When the sandwich bread is slightly warmed up (after 3-4 minutes), turn the bread over and sprinkle some grated cheese on it.

Put the lid on the pan and toast the bread a little more. Bake for about 3-4 minutes on a medium temperature, until the bread is slightly browned and the grated cheese on the bread melts.

When the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, remove the lid from the pan and remove the pan from the stove.

Place one teaspoon of natural tomato sauce on each slice of sandwich bread. Using a teaspoon, spread the tomato sauce evenly over the entire surface of the toast.

Take a bowl with tuna, gherkins, mayonnaise and onions. Use a teaspoon to place the spread on a slice of toasted bread and spread it evenly over the entire surface of the toast.

How long does tuna last after we take it out of the can?

Unopened canned tuna has a very long shelf life, sometimes even several years, but if you open a can of tuna, its shelf life becomes much shorter. Canned tuna, if stored at room temperature, is valid for no longer than 1 day. So if you keep tuna at room temperature, eat it the same day and don't eat it again if it has been left overnight.

If you keep an open can of tuna in the freezer, it will last much longer, about 2-3 days.
